If only our camera didn’t break the 1st day in Costa Rica….well at least we have memories. (We also wrote a little travel log).

I’m sure there were plenty of people who were snapping away at our little wedding a couple of weeks back. Have you got pictures?

Oh sweet Jebus! I am never getting married again; well I better not–right! Everyone keeps asking me ” Are you nervous? Getting some cold feet? ‘Sure you going to be able to go through with it?”

No.

I, we, are so incredibly stressed trying to get everything ready. Calling this vendor and that vendor. Writing a check for this, talking to this guy about the music, so-and-so are coming–wait no they aren’t! but the rsvped. Is the Minister paid-up yet?

And to top it off I got a call from the passport courier that we had to use (we lagged on getting ours, so we had to expidite) who said that Amanda’s was all set to go; my passport on the other hand was on hold beacause “I am wanted by the Federal Government because I may or may not be a terrorist.” Or someone with a similar name to mine might be…..my dad? Perhaps….. This has got to be one of the craziest times in a person’s life.

I would not trade it in for any other time of my life though. Sure you invite everybody that you hope would show up to your own funeral, but it is a little more fun and you’re family doesn’t get stuck with a bunch of casaroles that they wouldn’t eat anyway.

This is going to be a great wedding…..as soon as we get there.

Today at The 905 east Oakmont we will be host to Queens’ own Ricotta family. Complete with Gus and Jeff. Awesome! From what I hear there is a very young mustache involved.

Pretty excited to see the clan; especially the mustache! We haven’t alerted Disneyland yet, but I’m sure Donald Duck and Goofy will have their hands full. As will the ballpark later tonight at the game. Feel free to stop by for some espresso and Sambuca.

Bachelor Party Completed

Well…we made it! All of us. No arrests, or fights, or hurt-feelings. Girls Gone Wild didn’t show-up. Just lots of beer and music and making fun of each other.

There was one thing that happened, though.

We shot a Malendar.

You know that myself and Amanda are not the biggest of people. We stand at an average to slightly-below average height. I mean, we are by no means midgets; just not going to be posting-up anybody at the company Basketball Tournies. That is why what arrived last week was so awesome!!

This is what we found when we came home last Thursday.

In the mail!!, they shipped it. We–errrr–I registered for a ladder from Home Depot and now we can cross it off the list. I was kinda hoping that someone would buy it and bring it to the wedding, try to put it on the gift table, and so forth; this is way better.

So, 1 US dollar is equal to .6296 Euro.
1 US dollar is also equal to 517.93 Costa Rican Colon.
That being said, ¡Vamos a Costa Rica para nuestra luna de miel! Looks like Spain is a no-go due to the ever falling Good ‘Ol American Dollar and the slightly-less volitile Euro. Prices would be ridiculous right now for 2 good looking Americans in Barcelona; plenty of time for that in the future. We are gonna stay on our side of the world and travel a little further south to the paradise that is Costa Rica. All kinds of activities and things to do, see: Volcanoes, zip-lines, dolphins, white-water rafting, jungles, jungle crusies, 5 star hotels with hot springs, etc. We are pretty excited about it.

¡Pura Vida! as they say.

…And You’re Scared About the Bachelor Party??

So I got a phone call from some crazy lady at 10 or 11 at night on the weekend of Amanda’s bachelorette party. From Amanda. The only one still awake! C’mon, she’s always the first to pass-out. She slurring-ly told me a rough idea of the night’s festivities and I couldn’t have laughed harder. Perfect! I told myself, and then I realized who was in charge and it made sense. Thanks Lin!

Well, the invites should all be completed….unless we forgot someone. I spent last night (and this morning) licking all of them.

Went down to the Post Office, dropped those suckers in the slot, and sent them off. Hopefully things work out for the best. Not like what happened to Susan.

Yet another of the many things we have waited to complete has been just that–completed! Yesterday we had a meeting with the DJ service we are going to be using and signed the contract. Rest assured we were promised not to have a “cheesy” guy or “lame” music. That totally depends on us though, i guess, since we will be selecting the bulk of the music.

Any suggestions or requests please feel free to reply below. Otherwise we’ll end up with the obscure music that I like and that might not be too cool.

Nonetheless, paid the dude today; he showed up with bloodshot eyes this morning a little groggy–ahhhh, the life of a DJ.

One more thing check off the list.

(Dis)Invited! or Otherwise

Well, we almost have the invites in the mail. Did you know that stamps are like 50 cents each to send a letter now? Man, when I was a kid it was around 19 cents and all you had to do was put the person’s name on it. Just walk down to your local mail box, drop in an envelope with Santa Claus written on it, yes written-cursive, and presto! Good ‘Ol Saint Nick got your requests for Christmas for that year. Sure, sometimes he didn’t get you the big ticket items you requested: TVs, Boomboxes, VCRs, Nintendo, Laser Tag, but hey, he is Santa Claus and he does have a lot to do during the holidays. That being said, Invites should be sent out this week; look carefully through your junkmail before you throwaway something you may want.
